MAGGIE: BUILDING HER OWN SALON
Maggie attended our first workshop and quickly took to cutting hair as if she had been doing it for years. Since then, she has started a small salon on her family property. Shear Advantage connected Maggie with Twisted Scissor Salon, which generously donated a salon chair to her, making her space more professional. Additionally, Shear Advantage provided scissors and clippers to ensure Maggie had the necessary tools to get her business up and running. Maggie will also be one of the stylists working at the Shear Advantage/Pro Chipina salon when it opens in July.

ALEJANDRINA: STUDYING AND SKILLS
Alejandrina, 18, from Pro Chipina says: "Shear Advantage gave me the opportunity to change my life, and I took it and am now achieving my dream of continuing my college studies. I'm also able to support my mother with some household expenses. What I was able to learn in such a short time, and it's been the best choice of my life. I discovered that this career isn't just a haircut, but a life transformation—not just for hair, but also for the change I can make in my client's life thanks to communication. I will continue working and striving to make my teachers and family proud."

MARIA: NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Maria, a mother of three children ages 17, 9, and 6, from SERniña, shares: "This training has helped my life in many ways. I have been able to regain my self-confidence, and I have learned more about haircuts and how to give better service, which has helped me in my current job. Since I now have a hair clipper, I can cut my father's hair, who is in a wheelchair, and it has always been difficult for him to get a haircut in a barbershop; however, now I can work on his hair in the comfort of his own home. Thank you so much for the opportunity and for providing me with the tools."
